How to Play

a step-by-step guide to your game

PICK Daily Games now offer players more ways to win with the new add-on, FIREBALL. FIREBALL is an additional drawing that takes place directly following the twice-daily PICK game drawings.

Only one FIREBALL number will be drawn, applying to all four PICK Daily Games. If you’ve chosen to add FIREBALL, you can replace any of your PICK numbers with the FIREBALL number, creating more combinations. You can even win twice… With both the base game and with the FIREBALL!

So how do you play?

Download the Florida Lottery app or head to a Florida Lottery retailer. At your retailer, pick up a PICK 2, 3, 4 or 5 play slip. Choose your favorite numbers, 0-9, or select Quick Pick. Then select your play type. Add FIREBALL by checking the FIREBALL box on the left side of the playslip. Be sure to select the amount and draw time, too!

FIREBALL will double the cost of your PICK ticket and apply to all panels played.

Playing Pick 4

  1. Get your playslip

    Visit any Florida Lottery retail location for a paper playslip to choose your numbers. Every Pick 4 playslip contains 5 panels. Tickets for each drawing may be purchased up to 10 minutes prior to the applicable drawing – 1:20 p.m., ET for the midday drawings and 9:35 p.m., ET for the evening drawing.

  2. Mark your panels

    Choose a panel and select one number (from 0 through 9) from each column for a total of four digits. You may choose the same number in multiple columns or switch it up. Or, mark the QP (Quick Pick) box and let the terminal randomly select some or all of your numbers. For a Front Pair play, select a number from the first two columns only; for a Mid Pair play, select a number from the middle two columns only; for a Back Pair play, select a number from the last two columns only.


    Select your play type

    • Straight: Match numbers in EXACT ORDER to win. 
    • Box: Match numbers in ANY COMBINATION to win. 
    • Straight/Box: Bet on both! 
    • Combo: Front Pair, Mid Pair, Back Pair: Match numbers as any of the described pairs. 


    Select the amount you want to play: $0.50 or $1 (all Straight/Box plays cost $1; Combo plays cost $2 to $24).

  3. Choose your add-on's

    Add FIREBALL to replace any of the winning numbers drawn with the FIREBALL number drawn to create more winning combinations. Adding FIREBALL doubles your ticket price and applies to all panels played.

    Save time with Advanced Play

    To play the same numbers for more than one draw, select the number of advance draws you wish to play in the Advance Play section at the top of your playslip. If you claim a prize on a winning Advance Play ticket before all of the draws on the ticket have occurred, you will be issued a continuation ticket for the remaining draws with the same play numbers as the original ticket.

  4. Select your draw time

    Pick 4 drawings are held twice a day. Choose MID for the midday drawing at 1:30 p.m. ET, EVE for the evening drawing  at 9:45 p.m., ET, or BOTH for both the midday and evening drawings. If no draw time is marked, the terminal will automatically print a ticket for the next available draw time. If BOTH is selected, two separate tickets will print– one for the midday drawing and one for the evening drawing.

  5. Submit your playslip

    Submit your playslip to your Florida Lottery retailer and receive your official printed Pick 4 ticket with your numbers, draw date(s), and any add-ons. You’ll need this ticket to claim any prizes, so keep it safe!
